The Green Tourism Business Scheme is the leading sustainable tourism certification scheme in the UK. Businesses opting to join are assessed by a qualified grading advisor against a rigorous set of 150 criteria, covering a range of areas, like energy and water efficiency, waste management, biodiversity and more.
Scored out of a maximum of 60 measures in order to get the Bronze, Silver or Gold, businesses must achieve at least 40%, 65% or 80% respectively. The criteria are available as a PDF for relevant businesses and are summarised on the Green Tourism website: www.green-business.co.uk.
